Software Engineer (New Grad) · Shopify
Responsibilities
- Build and improve our Shopify theme (Liquid, sections/blocks, JSON templates).
- Implement Checkout UI Extensions and Shopify Functions for promos, shipping rules, and validation.
- Create small internal tools using the Admin & Storefront GraphQL APIs.
- Integrate reviews/recommendations/subscriptions apps and manage metafields.
- Fix bugs, write basic tests, and improve performance, accessibility, and SEO.
- Assist with simple analytics/funnel dashboards.
Qualifications
- Projects or internship experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Comfort with HTML/CSS, Git/GitHub, and reading API docs.
- Willingness to learn Liquid and Shopify concepts quickly.
Nice to have
- Shopify CLI, Theme App Extensions, Polaris (React UI), App Bridge.
- Checkout Extensibility, Functions, Hydrogen/Remix (or Next.js).
- Small Node/Express services, webhooks, basic OAuth; deploys on Vercel/AWS.
- Performance tuning (Lighthouse), basic SEO.
